Pink Lady® Apple
Pink Lady® Apples
Pink Lady® apples (also known as Cripps Pink) were developed in Australia by crossing the Australian apple Lady Williams with the American Golden Delicious. The result is a combination of the firm, long-storing property of Lady Williams with the sweetness of Golden Delicious.
Pink Lady® apples are usually the first to blossom and last to be harvested, each one soaking up 200 days of sunshine. It’s this generous growing time on the tree that gives Pink Lady® its gorgeous, rosy blush.
They hold their shape well when cooked, making them excellent for snacking, baking, and incorporating into both sweet and savory dishes.
In Washington State, Pink Lady® apple production amounts to about 7% of the total market share of all apple varieties.
